Academy for politicians ?

Soldiers accomplish tremendous feats of physical endurance and mental toughness. Nobody is born a soldier, they undergo rigorous training to be deemed suitable for the tremendous responsibility of defending their nation against its enemies.

I doubt anyone would disagree that the role of a politician is as important as that of the average soldier. Yet we do not hold them to the same high standards when we consider their suitability for office. Victor Orban was an Olympic medallist, Ronald Reagan a TV actor - hardly experience that would indicate their suitability for the highest echelons of power.

Hereby the need for a politicians academy - ensure they have a solid background in political science, economic theory, statistics, behavioural science, negotiation skills etc. Would society benefit if such an academy certification was a prerequisite for elections in parliamentary democracies worldwide ?
